Eating principles: No worries when dinning out! 外食原則

2016-12-13
Be self-prepared
  1. Clearly recognize the appropriate amount for the meal.
  2. Prepare a little snack for delayed meals.
  3. Bring along a small bottle of hot water or mineral water to rinse grease off food when it is too oily.
  4. Bring a bar of substitute sugar for sugar-free drinks and dessert.
Tips for food consumption
  1. Watch out for high-fat foods (1~2 teaspoon of nuts or meat with eliminated fat).
  2. Food wrapped with flour is often fried, so have its fried flour skin removed before eating it.
  3. Peel off the skin of poultry meat like tea geese and smoked duck.
  4. Avoid high-sugar foods; add substitute sugar in sugar-free desserts like dianthera, Ai-yu, and Tacca.
  5. Avoid high cholesterol foods like eggs, crabs, and mullet roe.
  6. Opt for food with lighter cooking means like boiling, steaming, grilling, and cold-mixing side dishes.
  7. All vegetables drained with hot soups can be safely eaten.
  8. Consume fruit within the amount of a small bowl, a serving per meal.
  9. Alcohol should be avoided unless it is well under control of 30 ml or less.
  10. Drink: sugar-free tea, mineral water, sugar free cola, and juice fewer than 100 ml a serving is optimal choices.
