Our eyes produce tears even when we are not crying. Tear lubricates our eyeballs, kill bacteria, and provide oxygen and nutrition for the surface , of eyes , dry eye happens when we do not have sufficient tears, by contrast, and it may incur infection and inflammation.
Tears secretion under normal condition decreases as we age, so dry eye patients are mostly elder people; however, with deteriorated air condition and young people’s fanaticism about contact lens, there are more and more young people with dry eyes nowadays.
