2016-11-08
Introduction:
Brain tumors are tumors inside the skull, often named differently by their types and parts which could generate different neurological symptoms. Most common malignant tumors are metastasized from none of the above. Most idiopathic tumors are astrocytoma, benign and malignant.

Symptoms:
Different tumors display different symptoms, usually combined.
Most common symptoms are as follows:
  1. Headache: this is the most common symptom. Patients often suffer from morning headache and such pain intensifies when they cough, sneeze, and defecate. The condition gets worse toward the last phase.
  2. Vomit: brain tumor oppression incurs high intracranial pressure which triggers vomiting. It is irrelevant to food eating and patients do not have nausea but sudden jet-like vomiting.
  3. Visual impairment: the oppression on the nerve causes either vision decline or immobility of the eyeballs.
  4. Neuropathy: different oppressive points cause different neuropathic illness like facial palsy and fragile limbs.
  5. Personality change: confusion of people, time, and places. Apathy toward everything and even somnolence.
  6. Cramp: deemed as an indicator of brain tumor and it is the most common symptom.
  7. Weak Consciousness: with extended tumor oppression or serious brain edema, patients could suffer from consciousness loss, coma, or even death.
Medical Treatments include:
  1. Surgical excision: the most important way to treat brain tumor and often deemed the first choice.
  2. Radiation therapy: this treatment is implemented when tumor can’t be completely eradicated.
  3. Chemical theory: a complementary treatment, eliminating tumor by injecting chemical drugs.
  4. Radiative gamma knife surgery: For brain tumors smaller than three centimeters or located at important functional area.
Conclusion:
With the advances of medical technology and diagnosis facilities, treatments for brain tumor are more precise and faster. Only proper treatments and cares are the best cure.
