2016-11-10
Birth certificate

In 24 hours after baby’s birth, please bring both parents’ identification cards, resident permits or passports to the station of delivery room. Get the Chinese version certificate before discharged from the delivery room; it often takes approximately one to two days to process the document. Go to the admission counter for additional copies and have the hospital seal them for you.

Urination
  1. Parturient women should be able to urinate in about 4~6 hours after the delivery. Sometimes urinary difficulty develops because of the baby’s compression in the birth canal or the perineum wound pain. Please inform our nursing staff if you have difficulty with urination.
  2. For the safety of the mother, please have your friends or our nursing staff by the bedside when you try to get out of the bed for the first time.
Wound care

Every time after you defecate or urinate, wash the perineum area with the washing jar and warm water. Then dry it with toilet paper or cotton stick. Clean the wound with iodine cotton swab and keep it dry if there is a wound.

You can get dressing pad or cotton stick from the nursing station. You will be billed for the use those materials.

The length of stay

With the policy of the Health Insurance Bureau, it pays three-day stay of vaginal delivery and six-day stay for cesarean section patient.

The fee of the room

Massage uterus

Goal: To help womb restoration and lochia evacuation, and to prevent  postpartum hemorrhage.

Method:

  1. Locate uterus, often the hard lump below navel, and massage it with your palm if it is soft.
  2. Inform our nursing staff if you cannot rest because of the uterine contraction pain or wound pain.
Breast feeding
  1. Rooming-in: if the newborn weighs enough with stable vital sign and normal vigor; rooming-in after the pediatrics doctor’s check and permission.
  2. The mother should try to breastfeed as soon as possible to have the newborn suck on the nipple to promote baby’s suction skill and to avoid breast fullness caused by excessive breast milk; all these could contribute to early breast milk production and enhance uterine contraction.
  3. You may inquire any questions regarding baby feeding from any of our medical personnel.
